Michael Tarchaneiotes, 13th century. Seal (Lead, 35 mm, 33.31 g, 12 h). St. Michael standing facing on dais, in military dress, nimbate, holding sword in his right hand and placing his left hand on scabbard. Traces of sigla in left upper field. Rev. MIXAHΛ / T૪ CΦPAΓICMA / TAPXANЄIⲰT૪ / ΦVΛAξ MIXAHΛ / AΓΓЄΛOC ΠPⲰ/TOTATHC ("Sealing of Michael Tarchaneiotes - Michael the firstmost angel is protector"). Apparently unpublished, but cf. Wassiliou-Seibt, Corpus 1448 (for a seal with only the first 12-syllable verse dated to the 14th century). Large scrape on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
